Do you want to discover the most beautiful landscapes of the French Riviera?
The ones that make you dream?
Here's a selection of the most beautiful places in the Alpes-Maritimes just for you.
The Perfect Balance Between Land, Sea, and Sky...
The Estérel, a volcanic massif located between Mandelieu-la-Napoule and Saint-Raphaël, is one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the French Riviera. With its red rocks contrasting against the deep blue of the Mediterranean, it offers breathtaking scenery and an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
This massif is a paradise for hikers, with marked trails suitable for all levels. Routes such as the one leading to the summit of Mont Vinaigre, the highest point in the Estérel, offer exceptional views over the coastline and the hinterland. Walks around Lake Écureuil or along the trails of Cap Dramont are ideal for exploring the local biodiversity.
Cyclists will also find plenty to enjoy thanks to dedicated paths that run through the forest and along the ridges. Climbing enthusiasts can tackle the rocky faces of the massif, while photographers will be captivated by the play of light at sunrise or sunset on the red cliffs.
The coves and calanques along the coastline, such as the Calanque d’Anthéor or the Calanque des Anglais, are perfect spots for swimming or diving in crystal-clear waters. These small hidden beaches, accessible on foot or by boat, are true havens of tranquility.
The Estérel is also rich in history. Roman remains, such as the ancient Via Aurelia, bear witness to the region's importance through the ages. The Dramont semaphore, a former observation post, is a historic site not to be missed.
Its flora and fauna are remarkable. Visitors may encounter wild boars, eagles, or Hermann’s tortoises, an emblematic species of the region. Mediterranean plants such as rockrose and rosemary scent the trails, offering a fully immersive experience in nature.
Accessible by car or train via the scenic Corniche d'Or road, the Estérel is also an ideal
romantic destination, with spectacular viewpoints overlooking the coastline. Sunsets from sites such as Pic de l'Ours or La Baumette beach are of unmatched beauty.
Visiting the Estérel means discovering a perfect balance between land, sea, and sky. Whether you are passionate about sports, relaxation, or simply in search of unique landscapes, the Estérel massif is a must-visit destination for an unforgettable getaway.
Along your route, take the time to stop at a few must-see locations.
In Mandelieu-la-Napoule, don’t miss the charm of Château de la Napoule, nestled between the sea and gardens. A little further on, in Théoule-sur-Mer, discover the remarkable Maison Bernard, a true architectural masterpiece hidden in the heart of the massif.
Château de la Napoule
Located at the foot of the Estérel massif and right by the sea, this historic site is a true architectural and artistic gem.
Built in the 14th century, the château has undergone many transformations over the centuries before being completely restored in the early 20th century by an American artist couple, Henry Clews Jr. and Marie Clews. They brought the building back to life by blending medieval architecture, Gothic inspiration, and their own artistic touches, creating a place that is truly one of a kind.

The château is now surrounded by beautiful French-style gardens, dotted with enigmatic sculptures, cypress trees, and superb views over the Bay of Cannes.
The atmosphere is both peaceful, romantic, and slightly timeless.
Inside, you will discover richly decorated rooms, original artworks, and the unique world of the Clews, blending imagination and symbolism.
📍 Good to know:
The château regularly hosts exhibitions, concerts, and cultural events, making it a lively
destination all year round.
Maison Bernard
Nestled on the heights of Théoule-sur-Mer, in the heart of the Estérel massif, Maison Bernard is a truly unique, almost unreal place.
Designed by Hungarian architect Antti Lovag in the 1970s, this house is part of the famous so-called “bubble” constructions. Here, there are no straight lines—everything is curves, rounded volumes, and organic shapes, designed to blend harmoniously into the surrounding landscape.
Maison Bernard is actually an extension of the famous Palais Bulles, another iconic work by Lovag.
The whole complex gives the impression of a futuristic habitat set among the red rocks of the Estérel, with the Mediterranean as a stunning backdrop.
Inside, the spaces are striking and unexpected: interconnected rooms, circular openings, plays of light, and vibrant colors…
Everything has been designed to create a unique sensory experience, completely breaking away from traditional architecture.
📍 Good to know:
Visits are by reservation only and in small groups, making the experience even more exclusive.
